The German supermarket Aldi Süd has expanded its sales assortment with herb allotments!

Together with InFarm, a vertical farming start-up from Berlin, five branches in the Düsseldorf and Frankfurt regions offer herb varieties such as mint, mountain coriander or chives, which you can watch as they thrive.

The advantages: absolute freshness, controlled cultivation in the glass cabinet works without pesticides, with 95 percent less water than conventional cultivation – and the supply chains are getting shorter. Further locations are to follow by the end of 2020, and the range of herbs will be gradually expanded.

InFarm uses LASA AGRO 3900 workstation for precise fertilization and control of nutrient solution.
